Point your phone at a food label. See which of your family's allergens it names. Or snap a plate for a rough idea of what's on it.
For anyone holding a packet or a plate and wondering: you, your partner, or the grandparent, babysitter or canteen volunteer minding the kids. Snap a food label and NibbleMate shows which allergens on that person's list it names. Snap a plate and it gives a rough idea of what's in it. All on your phone. Then you read the label too.

Try it: a label or a plate
Live demo · samplesPick someone's allergens, then a sample label or plate. This is the same logic the app uses, running in your browser.
How it works
- Add a profile for each person (you, your partner, your kids) and tick the allergens to watch, from Australia's mandatory allergen list (FSANZ Standard 1.2.3).
- Tap Snap. Point it at a food label or a plate. NibbleMate works out which, and asks if it isn't sure.
- On a label, it reads the bold "Contains" line and the ingredient list on your phone. Matching words are highlighted so you can find them fast. Then read the label yourself.
- On a plate, it suggests the foods it can see. You confirm them, add what it missed (oil, sauces, drinks) and pick portions.
Snap a plate
Included · rough estimate- About how much: energy (kJ), protein, fat, carbohydrate, sugars and sodium for the plate and each food, worked out from Australian food data (FSANZ). Every number is an estimate.
- Allergen warnings: foods you add that are usually made with someone's allergens are flagged, like "Milk: cheddar cheese". A photo can't show everything that went into a dish, so it always tells you to ask how it was made.
- No goals, streaks or logs. Nothing is saved, and the photo stays on your phone.
What it costs
Check one person's allergens, scan as many labels as you like, and snap plates for a rough estimate.

What it will never do
Give a verdict on a product. A scan only reports what it could read. "May contain" warnings are shown word for word and never interpreted. This wording is voluntary and not standardised.
Tell you something isn't in a dish. A photo can't show what went into it.
